KUALA LUMPUR: The Murukku Madani program held last Sunday allowed residents of Bandar Tun Razak who participated to learn how to make muruku directly.

According to the Wilayahku portal, participants included not only people from the Indian community but also Malays and Chinese, who learned how to make muruku.

Program committee member P. Malar stated that all communities were invited to learn how to make muruku, from mixing the ingredients to packaging.

“We invited everyone in the community to join in.

“They came to make muruku in a relaxed setting and took the muruku home,” she said when met at the Murukku Madani event in Bandar Tun Razak.

Malar added that the program not only strengthened relationships among the communities but was also lively due to the participation of various ethnic groups.

She noted that the program lasted three to four hours to complete the muruku, including packaging.

“Once finished, we distribute the muruku to each zone in Bandar Tun Razak.

“We hope programs like this can be held every year,” she said.

Meanwhile, a resident of Bandar Tun Razak, Irene Tai, expressed her enthusiasm for such programs.

She mentioned that she was very happy to gather with people from other communities to learn how to make a traditional snack.

“I only needed a short time to learn how to make muruku—about 30 minutes.

“I learned from start to finish, including packaging the muruku,” she said.

Another resident, Aina Abdul Hamid, attended the program to gain a deeper understanding of how to make muruku and to learn about the correct ingredients used by the Indian community.

She noted that the muruku made during the session used ghee and did not contain eggs.

“It took only 30 minutes to make the muruku.

“Today I gained knowledge and hope that programs like this will continue,” she said.
