KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Mawar Rashid is branching out into music with her debut single, ‘Terdiam.’ This heartfelt track explores themes of introspection, emotional turmoil, and the quest for inner peace.
The lyrics address feelings of loneliness, sadness, and self-doubt, raising thought-provoking questions about life’s uncertainties. Mawar reflects on brief moments of joy while striving to find meaning in the face of challenges. She acknowledges her imperfections and the fatigue that comes with healing, yet she expresses hope for brighter days ahead.
At its heart, ‘Terdiam’ embodies resilience, the pursuit of tranquility, and the journey to rediscover happiness during tough times. Mawar, 29, expressed her satisfaction with the song, which was written and produced by Amir Hasan and Madebyartin.
“I’ve known Amir since college, and I was confident he could realize my vision. After I shared my ideas, Amir and Madebyartin crafted something truly special,” said the Kota Baru-born artist in a recent statement from Sony Music Entertainment Malaysia.
The music video was directed by actress Janna Nick. Mawar, whose full name is Wan Mawar Shaputri Wan Abdul Rashid, explained, “I chose Janna because I admire her talent and experience. We’ve known each other for a long time, and I knew she could capture the essence I wanted for this video.”
However, the filming process wasn’t without its challenges. Mawar recounted an intense experience during the shoot. “At the end of filming, I felt so dizzy that I threw up from doing multiple spinning sequences for the dance scenes. It was exhausting! One scene involved burning flowers, and I had to move quickly. It’s a moment I’ll never forget.”
‘Terdiam’ is now available on all major digital music platforms.
