SEREMBAN: Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the Rantau State Legislative Assembly (DUN) seat, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, voted at the SJKC Chung Hua polling centre in Rantau here this morning.

The BN Deputy Chairman finished voting at Channel 1 together with his wife, Datin Seri Raja Salbiah Tengku Nujumudin, at approximately 8.50 am this morning.

“The voting process here seems orderly, many have come since this morning. I hope all voters in the Rantau DUN will immediately fulfil their responsibility as rain is forecast for this afternoon,” he said when met by reporters here.

The Rembau Member of Parliament also hopes that the voter turnout for the Negeri Sembilan State Election (PRN) will be high today.

“If we can get the usual 70 to 75 per cent, that is sufficient, because in Rantau there are many registered voters who no longer live here — military personnel and former police who have moved but have not changed their voting addresses.

“If possible, to get a voter turnout today in Rantau and throughout Negeri Sembilan of 70 to 75 per cent, that is good enough, because that is the usual turnout percentage in every election,” he said.

Mohamad will defend the seat he has won since 2004, and is being challenged by Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate, Dr. Azizul Hakim Mahdi.
