The sale of Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) to the Gateway Development Alliance (GDA) consortium is nearing completion, with the consortium achieving a 92.82% acceptance rate. The GDA consortium, led by Khazanah Nasional alongside BlackRock’s Global Infrastructure Partners and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, values the transaction at RM18.4 billion ($4.21 billion).

This strategic sale aims to modernize Malaysia’s airport infrastructure, boost passenger traffic, and attract international investments in the aviation sector. With the offer closing on February 4, the deal is expected to significantly enhance the country’s position as a regional transportation hub.

The sale has been widely regarded as a step toward boosting Malaysia’s economic recovery, particularly in the tourism and logistics sectors.
