Malaysia will continue to advance with harmony and diversity, says Zaliha
KUALA LUMPUR: Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories), Dr. Zaliha Mustafa, is confident that Malaysia will continue to progress with harmony and diversity.
According to the Wilayahku portal, she made this statement after attending the Malaysia Day 2024 celebration at Padang Merdeka, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah last night.
“At Padang Merdeka, 61 years ago, an important agreement was signed for the formation of the Federation of Malaysia between the late Tun Abdul Razak, Tun Mustapha, Tun Fuad Stephens, and several other Sabah leaders,” she said on Facebook.
Zaliha noted that yesterday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, in his speech, addressed the need to embrace the theme of Malaysia Madani Jiwa Merdeka (Malaysia Madani Spirit of Independence).
She said that the spirit of independence is not merely about rejecting British leadership.
“But about replacing it with indigenous leaders who are committed to serving and advocating for the people’s welfare.
“Malaysia must record progress, achieve unity, and understand the harsh history of the struggle for our nation’s independence,” she said.
