Malaysia Reaffirms Diplomatic Approach to West Asia Conflict During Meeting With Iran

NEW DELHI: Malaysia has reiterated its firm stance that ongoing conflicts in West Asia should be resolved through peaceful dialogue, diplomacy and respect for international law to preserve regional and global stability.

Malaysian Foreign Minister Mohamad Hasan conveyed the position during a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi on the sidelines of the BRICS Partners Foreign Ministers’ Meeting 2026.

The meeting took place amid a packed schedule of discussions involving BRICS partner nations in New Delhi.

According to Mohamad, the discussions focused on the latest developments in the West Asia conflict, which continues to impact regional stability and international security.

“Malaysia maintains that all disputes must be resolved through dialogue, diplomacy and adherence to international law in order to ensure peace, stability and security in the region,” he said.

The meeting reflects Malaysia’s continued emphasis on peaceful conflict resolution and multilateral cooperation amid growing geopolitical tensions affecting the international community.
