KUALA LUMPUR: The Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories), Dr. Zaliha Mustafa, stated that Le Tour De Langkawi 2024 serves as a platform to promote the natural beauty and culture of Malaysia.

According to the Wilayahku portal, she mentioned that this is also part of efforts to advance the tourism sector in the Federal Territories, particularly Kuala Lumpur.

“Since its launch in 1996, this event has become one of the most prestigious cycling championships in Asia, attracting both local teams and leading international riders,” she said on Facebook.

She made this statement after attending the “flag-off” ceremony for Le Tour De Langkawi 2024 (LTdL 2024) at the Petronas Twin Towers (KLCC).

According to Zaliha, in line with the theme of LTdL 2024, ‘Beat the Heat’, the Ministry of Youth and Sports supports the National Agenda of planting 100 million trees over a period of five years, starting from 2021 to 2025.

She said this aims to reduce the impact of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, which can mitigate the effects of climate change.

“A total of 104 participants from 30 countries will compete from Kuala Lumpur to Melaka in Stage 5.

“Congratulations to the winners of Stage 4 who have completed the race route from Kuala Kubu Bharu to Bentong.

“Come on, Team Malaysia, we are sure to be champions,” she said.
