KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 8: Tan Sri Krishnan Tan has confirmed that he is fully cooperating with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in connection with ongoing investigations involving IJM Corporation Bhd.

In a personal statement issued on Saturday, Tan clarified that he previously served as IJM’s non-executive chairman and was not involved in the company’s daily management or operational decisions.

“I have fully cooperated with the authorities and will continue to do so. I have full confidence in the enforcement process and the laws of the country. At this stage, it would not be appropriate for me to comment further while investigations are ongoing,” he said.

Last month, IJM confirmed that Tan had met with MACC officers and continued to provide information as requested. The company also said other personnel involved in the inquiry have been cooperating with authorities.

IJM has denied allegations of money laundering, stating that its investments in the United Kingdom since 2012 were funded mainly through Malaysian financial institutions and channelled through project-specific vehicles in the UK. The company also dismissed reports linking it to a probe by the United Kingdom’s Serious Fraud Office, describing such claims as inaccurate.

In a separate statement on Sunday, IJM reiterated that it is cooperating fully with MACC by promptly responding to all requests and making relevant personnel and information available for the investigation.

The company’s board also assured stakeholders that its business operations remain unaffected and that management remains focused on maintaining business continuity, customer confidence, and strong corporate governance standards.

IJM added that it will not comment further on the matter while investigations are ongoing but will provide updates in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
