Johor Declares Tomorrow A Special Holiday – Onn Hafiz
JOHOR BAHRU: The Johor State Government has declared tomorrow as a Special Holiday for the state.
Johor Menteri Besar, Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi said the declaration is a gesture of appreciation to all Johoreans who fulfilled their responsibility and trust as citizens in the 16th Johor State Election.
“With the consent of the Regent of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail, the Johor State Government declares Monday, July 13, 2026 as a Special Holiday for the State of Johor,” he said in a statement today.
Yesterday was Polling Day for the 16th Johor State Election, which saw a total of 1,874,918 or 68.73 per cent of Johoreans turn out to vote.
In this Johor state election, Barisan Nasional (BN) Johor, led by Onn Hafiz as chairman, achieved a landslide victory by winning 48 State Legislative Assembly seats out of the 56 contested.
Pakatan Harapan (PH) secured victory in eight State Legislative Assembly seats.
BN Johor succeeded in forming a government with a simple majority before Onn Hafiz Ghazi was reappointed as Johor Menteri Besar for a second term today.
