IRGC Intelligence Chief Martyred in Israeli Airstrike on Tehran Amid Ongoing US-Israeli Aggression

TEHRAN :  Brigadier General Seyed Majid Khademi, head of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Intelligence Organization, was martyred in an Israeli airstrike on Tehran early Monday, as part of the ongoing unprovoked US-Israeli military aggression against Iran.

The IRGC Public Relations Department released a statement paying tribute to Khademi, describing him as a courageous and dedicated defender of the principles of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Iran’s Islamic establishment, and national territories for nearly five decades. The statement highlighted his pivotal role in various intelligence and security operations, emphasizing his contributions to countering foreign threats and protecting Iran’s national security.

Khademi’s efforts, particularly in confronting foreign enemies at strategic levels, were credited with preventing numerous infiltration attempts and thwarting hostile plots aimed at destabilizing Iran.

Later Monday, the Israeli regime claimed responsibility for the assassination. Israel’s Minister of Military Affairs, Israel Katz, stated he had been briefed on the strike during an assessment with IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir.

The attack comes in the context of the broader US-Israeli war against Iran, which began on February 28 with the assassination of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and several high-ranking Iranian military commanders and civilians. Since then, the coalition has carried out repeated strikes on both military installations and civilian infrastructure across Iran, resulting in significant casualties and widespread destruction.

In retaliation, Iranian Armed Forces have launched multiple waves of missile and drone operations targeting US facilities across West Asia and Israeli positions in the occupied territories, signaling a continued cycle of military escalation in the region.
