IRGC Chief Issues Stark Warning to US and Israel Over Any Miscalculation
Tehran, Iran : The commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has issued a strong warning to the United States and Israel, cautioning that any miscalculation could have severe consequences.
Major General Mohammad Pakpour said in a statement Thursday that IRGC forces have “their hands on the trigger” to carry out orders from Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
“We warn the criminal, evil, and anti-human enemies, particularly the United States and the fake and racist Zionist regime, to learn from historical experience and what they sustained in the 12-day imposed war [in June] to avoid any miscalculation,” Pakpour said. He added that any misstep by the enemies would result in a “more painful and regret-inducing” outcome.
Pakpour emphasized that the IRGC has significantly strengthened Iran’s defensive capabilities and national security in response to what he described as American-Zionist hostility and malicious acts.
The warning comes in the aftermath of sporadic economic protests in Iran last December, which were reportedly exploited by rioters allegedly incited by US and Israeli officials and assisted by their operatives. US President Donald Trump publicly encouraged armed rioters to seize state institutions and threatened military action against Iran if confronted.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also criticized Trump in a Wall Street Journal opinion piece, claiming his threats served as direct incentives for terrorist cells to pursue a strategy of “maximum bloodshed” to involve the US in conflict on Israel’s behalf.
According to a statement from Iran’s Security Council on Wednesday, a total of 3,117 people were killed during the unrest, including 2,427 in a “full-scale atrocity” orchestrated by the US and Israeli regime and 690 others during the riots.
The IRGC chief’s statement underscores Tehran’s continued warning to foreign powers against intervention or provocative actions in the region.
