Iran wants to put Israeli criminals on trial for harming Palestinian and Lebanese children
Israeli offenders must face immediate trials for “war crimes” against Palestinian and Lebanese youth, according to Iranian Justice Minister Amin Hossein Rahimi. Rahimi, the head of the National Body for the Convention on the Rights of the Child, spoke at the First Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children in Bogotá, Colombia.
He voiced “deep concern” over the relocation, missing, and slaughter of tens of thousands of children in Gaza and Lebanon, “which is an unprecedented tragedy in gross violation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and a clear example of the most severe violence.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran places a premium on ending the Zionist regime’s violence against children,” stated Rahimi, president of the National Body on the Convention on the Rights of the Child. He urged conference participants to act quickly to condemn war crimes against Gaza and Lebanon’s innocent children.
He said they should prosecute and hold Zionist offenders and supporters accountable for violence against Palestinian and Lebanese children.
The Iranian minister also called for a special task group to recompense Gaza and Lebanon children for Israeli military damage. The year-long Israeli genocidal campaign against Palestinians in Gaza has killed 43,508, mostly children and women, and wounded 102,684.In a Friday report, the UN Human Rights Office (OHCHR) criticized the hundreds of civilians murdered in Israel’s conflict in Gaza; about 70% of them were women and children.
