TEHRAN: The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has launched the 22nd wave of Operation True Promise 4, striking multiple targets across the region with new-generation missiles, including Khorramshahr-4, Khaibar, and Fattah, according to an official statement.

The operation, conducted Friday under the code name “Ya Hossein ibn Ali (AS),” targeted positions held by U.S. and Israeli forces, extending from the Persian Gulf to Tel Aviv. According to the IRGC, the strikes were carried out in retaliation for attacks on Iranian children at the Minab school.

Among the missiles launched was the ultra-heavy Khorramshahr-4, carrying a 2-ton warhead and capable of speeds exceeding Mach 14. Key targets included American and Israeli bases in Persian Gulf countries, Ben Gurion Airport, and military centers in Haifa. GC spokesperson Brigadier General Ali Mohammad Naeini emphasized that the operation demonstrates Iran’s readiness for a prolonged conflict and warned that the enemy should expect heavy retaliatory strikes in every wave of operations.

A senior IRGC official revealed that most missiles used over the past week were produced between 2012 and 2014, noting that Iran has rarely deployed its newest missile systems so far. He added that Iran’s defense industry continues to operate at full capacity, with design and assembly lines producing advanced long-range missiles that are expected to be used in upcoming attacks.

Among the latest systems, the Fattah missile, unveiled in 2023, is a hypersonic weapon capable of maneuvering mid-flight to evade defenses, marking a significant advancement in Iran’s missile capabilities.

The IRGC statement highlighted that the 22nd wave successfully launched missiles from a sustained chain of IRGC bases, countering claims of weakened defense capabilities or reduced missile and drone activity.

These operations come in response to renewed U.S. and Israeli aerial attacks on Iran on February 28, eight months after previous unprovoked strikes, and reflect Tehran’s ongoing commitment to retaliatory missile and drone campaigns targeting Israeli-occupied territories and U.S. bases in the region.

Iranian officials stress that future waves of Operation True Promise 4 will increasingly incorporate new and less-used long-range missile systems, signaling Tehran’s preparedness for an extended military engagement.
