Iran claims there is currently “no agreement” on a truce with Israel

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated early Tuesday that there is currently “no agreement” on any ceasefire between Iran and Israel, adding, “The final decision on the cessation of our military operations will be made later.”

Iran has consistently asserted that Israel initiated the war against Iran, not the reverse. Abbas Araghchi stated on the social media platform X that there is currently “no agreement” on a ceasefire or a halt to military activities.

His comments followed US President Donald Trump’s announcement that, in the face of escalating Middle East violence, Israel and Iran had reached an agreement on a “complete and total” truce.

However, we have no plans to continue our retaliation after that, so long as the Israeli dictatorship ceases its unlawful attack against the Iranian people by 4 a.m. Tehran time.

“The final decision on the cessation of our military operations will be made later,” Araghchi stated.

Araghchi stated that Iran’s military actions to “punish Israel for its aggression” continued until the final moment, precisely at 4 am local time (0030 GMT).

“Together with all Iranians, I thank our brave Armed Forces, who remain ready to defend our dear country until their last drop of blood and who responded to any attack by the enemy until the very last minute,” he said.

After the US targeted three Iranian nuclear sites in Iran on Sunday, tensions dramatically increased on Monday as Iran launched a volley of missiles at the US military’s Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.

Tehran retaliated against Israel after the US operations, which were the most recent in a series of Israeli military assaults on Iran supported by the US since June 13. new English-language news article
