PUTRAJAYA (Nov 12): The Malaysian Immigration Department (JIM) has successfully dismantled a syndicate involved in the forgery and misuse of immigration security stamps, following a targeted enforcement operation known as “Ops Serkap” conducted by the department’s Enforcement Division on November 10, 2025.
Acting on intelligence and surveillance, enforcement officers identified two Malaysian male suspects who had boarded a bus from Terminal Bas Larkin, Johor Bahru, around 12 midnight, heading to Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) in Kuala Lumpur.
A team of immigration officers was deployed to the area and managed to track the suspects’ movements at TBS before apprehending them at a residential premises in Seri Kembangan, Selangor, which was believed to be a hideout for several other individuals involved in the operation.
The early-morning raid successfully dismantled the syndicate, which is believed to have been operating for the past two years and involved both local and foreign nationals.
During the search, officers seized eight Vietnamese passports and two fake immigration security stamps believed to have been used for falsifying travel endorsements.
According to preliminary investigations, the syndicate targeted Vietnamese, Indonesian, and Thai nationals seeking to extend their stay in Malaysia. These foreigners allegedly paid for fraudulent immigration endorsements handled by the suspects, without knowing the documents were fake.
Each forged endorsement was believed to cost between RM2,500 and RM3,000 per document.
A total of seven individuals were arrested in the raid: three Malaysian men, one Malaysian woman, and three Vietnamese women, aged between 20 and 35 years old.
They are being investigated for various offenses under the Immigration Act 1959/63 and the Passport Act 1966. All foreign nationals have been detained at the Putrajaya Immigration Depot for further action.
Immigration Director-General Datuk Zakaria Shaaban said the department will continue to intensify nationwide enforcement operations to ensure that individuals or employers who harbor or employ undocumented migrants face firm legal action.
“The Immigration Department remains committed to eradicating all activities that violate national laws to maintain Malaysia’s stability and prosperity, in line with the aspirations of the MADANI Government,” he said.
