Harith Iskander and Dr Jezamine Lim officially divorced

PUTRAJAYA: Comedian Harith Iskander and Dr Jezamine Lim have officially divorced through a single talak pronouncement in front of Syarie Judge Siti Noraini Mohd Ali at the Federal Territory Syariah Court today.

Their lawyer, Datuk Akberdin Abdul Kader, explained that they had filed two applications – for divorce and alimony – both of which were resolved simultaneously.

“We filed two applications, one for divorce and one for alimony. The divorce application was completed earlier, with Harith pronouncing the divorce at 12.05 pm with a single pronouncement. The divorce was mutual.

“As for the alimony concerning the children, it was also settled earlier. However, the custody application will be decided next week,” he said.

Akberdin stated that the reason for the divorce was irreconcilable differences, but emphasized that they continue to maintain a positive relationship for the well-being of their children.

“The reason cited is the usual irreconcilable differences; everything proceeded smoothly, and they remain good friends for the sake of their children, with no issues,” he said.

On July 8, Dr Jezamine, 41, filed for divorce at the Federal Territory Lower Syariah Court in Putrajaya. She acknowledged filing it approximately a month earlier, confirming the news.

After their marital situation attracted widespread attention, the couple clarified matters through a podcast on YouTube. Harith, 58, acknowledged personal shortcomings as contributing factors, explaining that the decision was not sudden but a result of prolonged consideration.

He shared that despite efforts to salvage their marriage, they ultimately decided on divorce. Harith and Dr Jezamine tied the knot on June 12, 2010, and are parents to three children: Zander Xayne, 14; Alessandra Jayne, 11; and Zydane Zayne, 9.
