Government not playing politics, Fahmi denies Sanusi’s claims
KUALA LUMPUR: The claim by Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor that ministers and deputy ministers in the unity government are still harboring strong political sentiments towards opposition states is untrue, said Communication Minister Fahmi Fadzil.
According to the Wilayahku portal, the Unity Government spokesperson stated that, instead, it is Sanusi who is heavily engaged in politics, unlike Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who consistently prioritizes the welfare of the people, including those in opposition-controlled states.
“I see that the Kedah Menteri Besar is the one heavily involved in politics. There is no need for political maneuvering.
“The Prime Minister spends a lot of time visiting to identify problems, such as when he went to Rantau Panjang, Pasir Mas, Kelantan,” he said.
Fahmi made these remarks during a press conference for Unity Government Week at the Ministry of Communications.
Meanwhile, Fahmi advised Sanusi to prioritize the interests of the people.
He said Anwar has consistently stated that there should be no political sentiment in managing development, including in states governed by opposition parties.
“We only emphasize that good governance and issues of integrity should be highlighted and prioritized,” he said.
