Foam on KESAS Highway Believed to Be from Soap Residue – Police

SHAH ALAM: The appearance of foam on the Shah Alam Highway (KESAS) from Kilometer (KM) 30 to KM30.5 heading from Klang to Kuala Lumpur here yesterday is believed to have originated from spilled soap residue.

Shah Alam District Police Chief ACP Sarudin Samah said it is believed to have spilled from a lorry on 24 August at the Kota Kemuning slip road before entering the KESAS Highway heading towards Klang.

“The fire department also took action by sprinkling sawdust along the spilled soap residue at the location on the same day.

“However, heavy rain today caused the spilled soap residue to produce a large amount of foam stretching approximately 500 meters,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Sarudin said following the incident, the highway concessionaire took the initiative to carry out a second cleaning operation, which was completed at 4.58 pm.

Earlier, several video recordings went viral on social media showing foam visible in parts of the KESAS Highway yesterday.
