SEREMBAN: Police arrested 10 men, including four drunk drivers and one individual who tested positive for drugs, in an Integrated Operation, Ops Samseng and Ops Samseng Jalanan, conducted at several locations around this district early this morning.

The operation, carried out by the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division (BSPT) of the Seremban District Police Headquarters (IPD), which began at 5 pm yesterday until 4 am today, also detained five individuals believed to be involved in street gangsterism.

Seremban District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Yatim Osman, said 115 individuals and 105 vehicles were inspected throughout the operation at four main locations, namely Jalan Sungai Ujong, Jalan Lingkaran Tengah, Jalan Bukit Kepayang and Jalan Rasah.

“The operation, which involved three officers and 24 police personnel, arrested four men for driving under the influence of alcohol, one individual who tested positive for THC drugs, and five believed to be involved in street gangsterism. All are aged between 19 and 30 years old.

“As a result of this operation, 78 summonses were issued for various traffic offences, with the highest offence being driving without a licence, totalling 20 cases, followed by expired motor vehicle licences (LKM) with 15 cases, and no insurance coverage with eight cases,” he said.

Mohd Yatim said the Ops Samseng Jalanan cases will be investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987 for reckless and dangerous riding.

The four drunk drivers are being investigated under Section 45A(1) of the same act after their alcohol content exceeded the permitted limit. One investigation paper has been opened under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 against the individual who tested positive for drugs.

Also seized were five motorcycles under Section 64(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
