KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) towed 17 motorcycles and issued 83 traffic summonses during a special enforcement operation in Brickfields aimed at tackling illegal parking and obstructions affecting public spaces and pedestrian walkways.

The operation, known as Special Traffic Enforcement Action Series 10/2026, was carried out along Jalan Stesen Sentral 3 and Jalan Stesen Sentral 5 following complaints from members of the public regarding traffic violations in the area.

In a statement, DBKL said the enforcement action targeted motorcycles and private vehicles parked in unauthorised locations, causing inconvenience to pedestrians and disrupting the proper use of public spaces.

“As part of this enforcement series, a total of 17 motorcycles were towed and transported to the DBKL Vehicle Impound Depot on Jalan Pahang for further action,” the statement said.

Authorities also issued 83 compound notices for various traffic-related offences, including illegal parking and blocking pedestrian pathways.

DBKL emphasised that the operation was conducted to improve public safety, ensure smooth pedestrian movement, and maintain order in high-traffic areas around Brickfields, one of Kuala Lumpur’s busiest transportation hubs.

The city authority reiterated its commitment to enforcing traffic regulations and urged motorists to park responsibly to avoid penalties and enforcement action.

DBKL also reminded road users to comply with traffic laws and respect designated parking areas to help create a safer and more accessible environment for all residents and visitors.
