“As an initial step, three locations have been selected as pilot areas, namely PPR Kampung Muhibbah, PPR Beringin, and PPR Sungai Bonus.

“These three areas have already begun efforts to brighten up 14 blocks involving 238 floors with funds collected from the residents,” the statement said today.

The Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, Datuk Seri Dr. Maimunah Mohd Sharif, and Member of Parliament for Seputeh, Teresa Kok, were also present to observe the implementation of the program at PPR Kampung Muhibbah today.

To support this initiative, DBKL has also allocated an initial capital of RM300 for each floor participating in the program.

“This assistance aims to help residents obtain necessary materials such as paint, decorative equipment, and other essentials,” the statement added.

According to the statement, the implementation of the program involves three main phases.

In the first quarter of this year, it involves planning and logistics preparation to ensure the smooth running of the program, followed by activities to enhance the lift lobbies in the second quarter. At the end of the year, an evaluation will be conducted on cleanliness, aesthetics, and residents’ creativity.

“Floors that achieve the best standards will be given recognition as an encouragement for the community to maintain cleanliness and the beauty of their surroundings,” the statement said.

DBKL also encourages non-governmental organizations (NGOs), public and private universities, and other organizations to contribute funds, equipment, and logistical support to ensure the program’s success.

“With the involvement of various parties, this initiative will not only improve the quality of life for PA and PPR residents but also help foster a more united, harmonious, and prosperous urban community,” it added.
