PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has given a strong assurance that the government will not tolerate any form of criminal activity and will take decisive action against individuals alleged to be “roaming free” despite involvement in serious crimes.
Speaking on the matter, Anwar stressed that law enforcement agencies have been instructed to act professionally, independently, and without fear or favor in upholding the rule of law. He said no person, regardless of status, influence, or political background, would be protected if found to be involved in criminal acts.
“The MADANI government is committed to ensuring public safety and restoring confidence in the justice system. There is no room for compromise when it comes to crime and corruption,” he said.
The prime minister added that ongoing investigations are being conducted based on evidence and due process and urged the public to allow authorities the space to carry out their duties without speculation or pressure.
Anwar also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening enforcement institutions, improving coordination among agencies, and ensuring transparency in criminal investigations.
He said these measures are part of broader reforms aimed at protecting the people, maintaining public order, and ensuring that justice is upheld fairly and consistently across the country.
The government, he added, will continue to monitor developments closely and take further action where necessary to ensure that criminals are brought to justice and that no one is perceived to be above the law.
