Anwar hopes IAIS will continue to play a key role in addressing International Muslim Community issues
KUALA LUMPUR: The Islamic think tank, International Institute of Advanced Islamic Studies (IAIS) Malaysia, is hoped to continue playing a key role in coordinating issues faced by the Muslim community at the international level.
According to Bernama, this was shared by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in a Facebook post this evening, following his meeting with IAIS Malaysia Chairman Dr. Maszlee Malik earlier today, to discuss the institute’s direction and action plan for the long term.
“Since its establishment in 2008, IAIS Malaysia has played various important roles in promoting a positive Muslim identity and fostering unity among the Muslim community and the ummah at the international level.
“Most importantly, IAIS Malaysia has contributed to the development of the country’s soft diplomacy and ensured the implementation of engagement through dialogues between countries at the international level, especially Muslim countries.
“This aligns with the aspirations of the MADANI approach in accordance with national policy,” he said.
