Aliff Aziz, Ruhainies khalwat’s case mention on July 3

KUALA LUMPUR: The khalwat case involving local actress Ruhainies Zainul Ilyas and Singaporean singer-actor Aliff Aziz is scheduled to be discussed by the Syariah High Court in Jalan Duta on July 3.

In a report published today by Berita Harian, Hadi Salleh, the Syarie lawyer representing the artists, stated that they appeared in court this morning to request an extension of their bail bond.

He stated that on RM1,500 apiece, Aliff and Ruhainies, who arrived at 8.40 am and departed at 11:50 am, were freed.

The Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (Jawi) detained Aliff and Ruhainies on March 9 for khalwat in her residence. 

The Federal Territories Syariah Enforcement Department (Japens) has received the investigative files related to the Jawi case, as stated earlier by Jawi director Datuk Mohd Ajib Ismail, for potential further action.

Aliff recently asked his followers to pray for a speedy resolution to the matter and assured them that he was fully cooperating to Jawi.
