PETALING JAYA: The Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) will conduct a further review of the investigation papers concerning a viral video involving Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) director-general Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain.
Attorney General Tan Sri Dusuki Mokhtar said the investigation papers were received this afternoon and that the AGC would examine all aspects of the investigation before making any decision.
“The review will include witness statements, closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage and any other relevant evidence.
“We need to thoroughly review and examine the matter, and this will take some time,” he told Utusan Malaysia when contacted yesterday.
Yesterday, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohd Khalid Ismail said the investigation papers concerning the viral video would be referred to the Attorney General’s Chambers.
The papers will be referred to the AGC for review, advice and further instructions in accordance with Article 145(3) of the Federal Constitution.
Two reports were lodged by two police officers over allegations that they were physically assaulted by the AKPS director-general.
The incident is being investigated by Bukit Aman’s Criminal Investigation Department under Section 323 of the Penal Code.
The provision concerns the offence of voluntarily committing an act that causes bodily pain, disease or infirmity to another person.
