Israel kills one in south Lebanon: ministry

The health ministry of Lebanon said that an Israeli strike in the south of the country on Thursday killed one man. Israel claimed that the strike targeted a member of the Iran-backed Hezbollah group. There was a truce between Israel and the armed group in Lebanon at the time of the attack.

The ministry said that one guy was killed in a forest area in Nabatiyeh Al-Fawqa by an “Israeli enemy strike.”

The Israeli army said it caught “a Hezbollah terrorist” in southern Lebanon. They said he was fixing up a place where the group’s “fire and defense array” was managed.

The National News Agency, which is run by the government of Lebanon, said the man was a “municipal employee” who was fixing up wells when someone hit him on his motorbike.

Israel and Hezbollah agreed in November to end over a year of fighting, which included two months of open war. However, Israel has continued to bomb Lebanon.

The deal says that only UN peacekeepers and the Lebanese army can work in the south. However, Israel stays in five places that it sees as strategically important.

Lebanon has asked the world to pressure Israel to stop attacking and withdraw its troops.
