Russia will launch two Iranian satellites on November 5, according to Tehran’s envoy in Moscow
Iran’s ambassador to Moscow said on Monday that Russia will use a Soyuz launcher to send two Iranian satellites into space on Tuesday. This is part of efforts to improve scientific cooperation between the two US-sanctioned countries.
On Tuesday, November 5, two Iranian satellites called Kowsar and Hodhod will be launched into a 500-kilometer orbit around the earth by a Soyuz rocket. This is part of ongoing efforts between Iran and Russia to work together on science and technology.
A report from Iran’s semi-official news service Tasnim last month said that the private sector’s work on Kowsar (a high-resolution imaging satellite) and Hodhod (a small communications satellite) was the country’s first major work in the field.
In February, Russia sent the Iranian science satellite Pars 1 into space from the Vostochny Cosmodrome on a Soyuz rocket.
