Sultan Ibrahim attends Federal Decorations and Honors Ceremony

KUALA LUMPUR: The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim, attended the Federal Decorations, Stars, and Medals Ceremony 2024 at the National Palace today.

According to Bernama, this was the first honors ceremony conducted by His Majesty since being inaugurated as Yang di-Pertuan Agong on July 20.

Also present at the ceremony, which marked the official birthday anniversary of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, was the Raja Permaisuri Agong, Raja Zarith Sofiah.

Sultan Ibrahim, dressed in the official attire known as Muskat, was received by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his wife, Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

The Prime Minister and his wife then accompanied His Majesty to the Royal Pavilion to receive a Royal Salute from the Main Honor Guard of the First Battalion of the Royal Malay Regiment (RAMD) at the National Palace Square.

At the same time, the national anthem “Negaraku” was played by the RAMD Central Band, and the personal flag of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong was hoisted, followed by a 21-gun salute.

Sultan Ibrahim then inspected the Main Honor Guard and, after the inspection, received another Royal Salute as the national anthem played once more.

His Majesty and the Raja Permaisuri Agong were then escorted by the Prime Minister and his wife, leaving the Royal Pavilion to continue the ceremony program at the Balairung Seri.

A total of 116 individuals were awarded Federal Decorations, Stars, and Medals 2024 in conjunction with the official birthday celebration, with the ceremony broadcast live on national television.

Also present at the ceremony was Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Sultan Ibrahim took the oath and signed the Letter of Appointment as the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong on January 31 of this year.
