KUALA LUMPUR: Dr. Zaliha Mustafa, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories), visited the landslide site on Jalan Masjid India yesterday, where an Indian national was involved.

According to the Wilayahku portal, during the ‘field visit,’ she was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Transition and Water, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.

“I, along with Fadillah, were briefed by the incident commander on the latest developments in the search and rescue (SAR) mission, which has now entered its sixth day.

“We revisited the area, accompanying Fadillah around the ‘ground zero,’ which is the location where the victim fell on the day of the incident,” she stated on Facebook.

Zaliha also mentioned that after the visit, she inspected another landslide site nearby “ground zero.”

Meanwhile, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said he also visited Jalan Pantai Permai yesterday to assess the condition of the recently collapsed drainage system.

He explained that the incident was caused by a burst pipe in the nearby drainage system.

Fahmi added that Zaliha informed him that repairs would be carried out promptly and are expected to take approximately three weeks.

“The public is advised to remain cautious, especially when encountering areas with signs of land subsidence,” he said.
