KUALA LUMPUR: The government is set to enhance early childhood education institutions by concentrating on registration, safety, health, and curriculum improvements, according to Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek.

She shared these plans following a meeting of the Special Committee on Integrated Regulation of the Establishment and Operation of Early Childhood Education Institutions, which she led today. The meeting included contributions from Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Rubiah Wang, as well as representatives from the Health Ministry and the Ministry of National Unity.

The purpose of the meeting was to boost public trust and confidence in Malaysia’s early childhood education institutions. “Our goal is to ensure a more effective and comprehensive regulatory framework for these institutions nationwide,” Fadhlina stated in a Facebook post.

She emphasized that strengthening early childhood education is one of six key focus areas for enhancing the country’s education system. In a related Facebook post, Nancy Shukri highlighted the collaborative nature of early childhood education, stressing the need for coordinated efforts across ministries to improve the quality and effectiveness of the education system.
