Farah Kartini’s family satisfied with the suspect being charged in court
HULU SELANGOR: The family of Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah, 25, expressed satisfaction when the suspect accused of murdering the former Sultan Idris University of Education (UPSI) student was brought to court on Monday.
According to Sinar Harian, the victim’s cousin, Suzursofia Smeth Jaya, 33, said she and her brother-in-law attended the proceedings on behalf of the victim’s family at the Kuala Kubu Bharu Magistrate’s Court.
“We are positive and accept the charges. Farah’s brother will be present at the next case mention on August 30. We want justice for the deceased (Nur Farah Kartini) and wish to see her case resolved,” she said when met by reporters at the Kuala Kubu Bharu Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
Earlier, Muhammad Alif Monjani, 26, was charged at the Kuala Kubu Bharu Magistrate’s Court with the murder of his girlfriend, Nur Farah Kartini, whose body was found in an oil palm plantation three weeks ago.
However, no plea was recorded from the accused, Muhammad Alif Monjani, 26, after the charges were read before Judge Nurul Mardhiah Mohammed Redza, who acted as the Magistrate.
According to the charges, Muhammad Alif is accused of murdering Nur Farah at the SKC Plantation, Kledang, Mukim Hulu Bernam, between 9 a.m. on July 10 and 6 p.m. on July 15.
Consequently, the prosecution is filed under Section 302 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 34 of the same Code.
During the proceedings, the accused was represented by lawyers Aida Jaafar Mad Ariff and Nur Aida Md Zainuddin.
