14 routes around the capital are closed in conjunction with the Coronation Ceremony of the Agong
KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 14 routes around the nation’s capital will be closed in stages this Saturday for the Coronation Ceremony of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim.
Berita Harian reports, Kuala Lumpur Police Chief, Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said, the police will deploy at least 387 officers and police personnel to carry out the assigned tasks on the day in question.
“All 387 officers and police personnel will carry out the task of escorting dignitaries, controlling traffic and enforcing road laws so that the event full of National Ceremonies can take place successfully.
“This temporary road closure is to allow the Royal guests to pass through the designated route according to the designated time and will be reopened after the dignitaries pass through the designated route,” he said in a statement today.
Rusdi said the temporary road closure will start at 8am for the Coronation Ceremony and at 8pm for the Royal Dining Ceremony.
He said the routes that will be temporarily closed are Jalan Tun Razak, Jalan Kia Peng, Jalan Raja Chulan, Jalan Ampang, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Lebuhraya Sultan Iskandar, Jalan Tuanku Abdul Halim, Jalan Semantan, Jalan Damansara, Jalan Istana, Kuala Lumpur-Seremban Expressway, Jalan Kuching (southbound), Bulatan Dato Onn, Jalan Parlimen.
“Road users are advised not to go through the roads involved with full closure to avoid traffic congestion and follow the instructions of the Traffic Police members on duty at the location.
