KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will meet the family of the late Teoh Beng Hock, former Selangor EXCO Political Secretary from DAP who died in the custody of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in 2009.

Berita Harian reported, he also assured that he would examine the demands contained in the memorandum that was to be submitted to him in Parliament, this morning.

Referring to the incident of the deceased’s family members and a group of activists demanding justice for the death of Beng Hock who were blocked from approaching the Parliament building, Anwar said he was aware of the incident.

“I am aware of the incident that happened outside Parliament today involving the family of the late Teoh Beng Hock. I promise to meet them in the near future and examine the memorandum of demand,” said the Prime Minister on the X platform.

Beng Hock, who is also a MACC witness, was found dead and originally believed to have fallen from a building before the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) on the case in 2011 ruled that he died by suicide following the MACC investigation.
