KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim called on non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and youth movements in the country to respond to the government’s call to reject corruption, abuse of power and oppression.

According to Bernama, Anwar said that the Prophet SAW once upon a time with the strength of belief, creed, morals and values, defended rights and justice by rejecting deviations, tyranny and corruption in the community.

He said that if that trait is practiced by the community by deepening the understanding of migration in addition to ‘waking up’ from laziness to raise self-respect, the country will definitely develop and progress.

“Hijrah means leaving outdated practices and polytheism, practices of tyranny, oppression, slander that are rampant, then we will change and I believe that the Malaysian Five Generation Organization (PLG) will bring the same spirit, we will save our nation and our people.

“I happen to be an old generation, but when it comes to defending rights, sovereignty, I don’t care… an opponent remains an opponent!” he said when speaking to officiate the establishment of PLG yesterday.

Also present were Perak Menteri Besar Saarani Mohamad, Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Adam Adli Abd Halim, State Communications, Multimedia and NGO Committee Chairman Mohd Azlan Helmi and PLG President Abdullah Ghani Kassim.

Anwar said the community should not be complacent because the country is currently competing to develop, so they need to complete their knowledge, improve their understanding of justice and unite in making Malaysia a great country.

“We need investment, digital, artificial intelligence, poverty eradication and the condition (to progress) must be leadership from the youth, PLG, national political leadership that rejects tyranny and stops using power to enrich themselves.

“I guarantee with the power I have, I will make sure that PLG or silat gayung or whatever machinery is available to further strengthen and raise the nation’s dignity to become a great nation,” he said.

Therefore, the Prime Minister said he wants all parties to stop all disputes and use the spirit of migration because this is the time for them to rise as a force in addition to showing that a great nation is one that is knowledgeable, principled, hardworking and upholds justice for the country and society.
