KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the government implemented various policies to ensure transparent governance in preserving the environment.

Berita Harian reports, at the same time, the Prime Minister said the government is also creating a policy to reduce carbon emissions.

It includes introducing related policies to promote social equality, while creating new growth opportunities in the green economy.

“For this purpose, the government has allocated large funds towards renewable energy, investing in clean and sustainable energy sources.

“In sustainable agriculture, we support environmentally friendly agricultural practices to ensure public health in the long term.

“Furthermore, we are developing green transport solutions to reduce environmental impact to improve connectivity,” he said in a statement on Facebook today.

Commenting further, the Prime Minister said the initiative spearheaded by his leadership signifies the unwavering commitment of the MADANI Government administration.

It is particularly in reducing the country’s carbon footprint in addition to promoting sustainable practices.

“Together we can build a more sustainable and fair Malaysia for future generations,” he said.
