Budget 2027 Expected to Deliver Significant Economic Benefits to Malaysians – Analyst

KUALA LUMPUR: The tabling of Budget 2027 on Friday is expected to deliver significant economic benefits to Malaysians, particularly workers in the M40 and B40 income groups, as well as young people, including students at higher education institutions.

Putra Business School (PBS) Senior Lecturer Associate Professor Dr Ahmed Razman Abdul Latiff said the economic benefits are expected to come through fiscal injections in the form of direct cash assistance and various other incentives.

He said such measures could stimulate the domestic economy by ensuring that people remain able to spend and cope with the rising cost of living without facing excessive financial pressure.

“These economic benefits will come in the form of fiscal injections through direct cash assistance and various other incentives, and all of this will stimulate the domestic economy because we want to ensure that people are still able to spend and cope with the cost of living without being overly burdened when it increases each year,” he said in a statement today.

Ahmed Razman said Budget 2027 appears to place greater emphasis on the welfare of the people while, at the same time, continuing efforts to attract investors to invest in Malaysia.

He said efforts to strengthen the domestic economy must also continue to ensure that micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are able to expand further.

“Therefore, I see the approach of Budget 2027 as being more focused on supporting the welfare of the people while, at the same time, not overlooking efforts to continue attracting investors to Malaysia.

“At the same time, the domestic economy needs to be strengthened to ensure that MSMEs are able to grow further,” he said.

He stressed that all these efforts must be implemented based on strong and sound governance to ensure that the country’s prosperity and economic gains can be enjoyed by all Malaysians.

“Of course, all of this must be implemented based on strong and sound governance. This reflects the people’s aspiration to ensure that whatever prosperity and economic benefits the country gains will ultimately benefit the entire population,” he said.
