PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has searched 12 locations, including the office and residence of a company manager from an agency providing financial and corporate services.

A source said the MACC seized 25 luxury vehicles worth approximately RM25 million.

“In addition, four personal accounts and three company accounts involving about RM3 million have been frozen,” the source said today.

The source said the MACC had also obtained permission to extend the suspect’s remand after he was suspected of submitting documents containing false particulars to obtain tax reductions worth approximately RM200 million.

The three-day remand order, until Oct 6, was issued by Magistrate Illya Syaheedah Mohd Razif.

“The application was made by the MACC at the Putrajaya Magistrate’s Court this morning after the suspect’s initial remand period expired today.

“Previously, the male suspect, who is in his 40s, had been remanded for three days since last Thursday,” the source said.

Meanwhile, MACC Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman, when contacted, said the case is being investigated under Section 16 of the MACC Act 2009.
