Agong bid RM1.75 million for the number plate ‘FFF 1’
PETALING JAYA: Vehicle registration number “FFF 1” became the property of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim with a bid of RM1.75 million.
According to FMT, Transport Minister Loke Siew Fook presented the registration number to Sultan Ibrahim when he appeared at the Istana Negara.
Sultan Ibrahim in a Facebook message hoped that the proceeds of the bid would be used by Putrajaya to help the people.
Bidding for vehicle registration number “FFF” took place from May 11 to 15 in conjunction with the Road Transport Department’s 78th Anniversary.
Earlier, Loke was reported to have said that the bid was aimed at generating additional funds for initiatives such as the distribution of free helmets, additional SOCSO contributions for 40,000 taxi drivers, rental cars and school buses, sponsorship of public service vehicle (PSV) licenses and B2 for the B40 group.
Sultan Ibrahim who is known for his interest in classic cars and collectibles, has bought unique vehicle registration numbers, including “FF 1” worth RM1.2 million in June 2023 and “GOLD 1” worth RM1.5 million last February.
