Former Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay has been appointed Chairman of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) Integrity Committee for the remainder of the 2025-2029 term.

FAM President Datuk Ab Ghani Hassan said the appointment was among the decisions made at the sixth FAM Executive Committee meeting for the 2025-2029 term at Wisma FAM in Kelana Jaya on Wednesday.

He said the appointment of individuals from outside the Executive Committee (Exco) to lead certain committees was based on their credibility and experience in the relevant fields, thereby strengthening the governance of the national football governing body.

“For the Integrity Committee, Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay has been appointed chairman, while Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) Director-General Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain has been appointed his deputy.

“We want individuals with credibility to oversee the committee and ensure that FAM’s management and governance are carried out as effectively as possible,” he told a press conference after the meeting.

The meeting also saw the appointment of chairmen and deputy chairmen for 11 FAM standing committees to ensure that every aspect of the management and development of Malaysian football can be carried out effectively.

Ab Ghani said that apart from the Integrity Committee, FAM also selected experienced individuals from outside the Exco to lead the Referees Committee as well as the Stadium and Security Committee.

For the Stadium and Security Committee, Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department Director Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri was appointed chairman, with DCP Datuk Mohd Rozi Jidin as his deputy.

Datuk N Saaran was appointed Chairman of the Legal Committee and Deputy Chairman of the Finance and Management Committee.

Datuk Seri Rosmadi Ismail, meanwhile, will head the Technical and Development Committee and has also been appointed Deputy Chairman of the National Football Team Management Committee.

Ab Ghani said all chairmen of the standing committees have been given seven working days to nominate their respective members so that the committees can begin carrying out their duties.

In a related development, he confirmed that Datuk Noor Azman Rahman will remain as FAM Secretary-General, while Datuk Ismail Karim will continue serving as FAM Treasurer.

He said Noor Azman’s contract remains in effect until the end of next year, while Ismail’s appointment has been extended for the remainder of the current FAM leadership term.
