Renowned rock singer Datuk Nash was involved in an accident that left him requiring 52 stitches for his injuries.

The singer, best known for the song Zahir Tak Terucap, is understood to have been involved in a motorcycle accident while on his way home from a surau last night.

As a result of the accident, Nash received 24 stitches to his head and another 28 stitches on the left side of his forehead.

Nash, who is currently receiving treatment at a private medical centre, expressed gratitude that he did not suffer any serious or internal injuries.

“I would like to thank the local residents who helped me last night.

“Alhamdulillah, I only sustained external injuries to my head, while examinations found no serious internal injuries,” he said.

Recalling the incident on Sunday night, Nash said he was riding his motorcycle home after performing Isyak prayers at a surau near his house.

“After prayers, I attended a religious talk before heading home. It was also raining at the time. The accident happened while I was on my way home,” he said.

The former vocalist of rock band Lefthanded was initially rushed to Shah Alam Hospital before being transferred to a private medical centre on Monday.

Nash also sustained wounds to his head and said he was still unable to open his left eye.

“I’m sorry that I’m unable to open my eye at the moment,” he said.

The veteran singer also received a visit from Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Meanwhile, Nash’s family members at the hospital have asked that he be given time to rest, with visitors not permitted for the time being.
