Misunderstanding Believed to Be Motive Behind Murder of Woman With Disability, Two Men Arrested

KUALA KANGSAR: [UPDATED] A misunderstanding is believed to have led to the murder of a woman with a disability who was found dead with suspected stab wounds at a house in Kampung Cheh Kati here on Wednesday.

Kuala Kangsar District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Heisham Harun said police received a report on the incident at about 2.38pm after family members found the victim lying face down, unconscious and covered in blood in the living room.

He said police subsequently arrested two men, both family members of the victim, who are believed to have been involved in the incident.

“Police also recovered a knife suspected to have been used as the weapon in the incident.

“Preliminary investigations indicate that the incident is believed to have stemmed from a misunderstanding between the victim and the suspects,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.

Earlier, the media reported that the victim, Nor Ainon Omar, 49, was found lying in a pool of blood at the village house where she lived with her husband and three children.

Heisham said the victim’s body had been sent to the Forensic Department of Taiping Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

He said the case had been classified as murder and was being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
