Let Police Investigate Fatal Accident of Three Family Members With Immigration Lorry – Zakaria

KUALA LUMPUR: The Immigration Department has fully handed over the investigation to the police regarding the fatal accident involving three family members with one of the department’s lorries at Jalan Sultan Ismail here, early this morning.

Immigration Director-General, Datuk Zakaria Shaaban, when contacted, confirmed the matter and he is still waiting for the full report regarding the incident.

He said, his department will give its cooperation and hand over further investigation to the authorities.

“We leave it to the authorities to conduct investigations based on the law,” he said.

Earlier, media reported that three family members were killed after being hit by an Immigration Department lorry that skidded at the Maju Junction traffic light intersection, Jalan Sultan Ismail, here, early this morning.

Those who died in the incident at around 1 am were a 53‑year‑old man and his two daughters, aged 12 and 25 respectively.

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa was quoted as saying, the accident involved an empty Isuzu Black Maria lorry, two cars and four pedestrians who were also from the same family.
