PETALING JAYA: The title ‘Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri’ which was conferred upon Pengiran Raabi’atul Adawiyyah Pengiran Haji Bolkiah has been withdrawn effective immediately.

The announcement was broadcast on prime television in Brunei last night.

“On the command of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Yang Mulia Pengiran Raffizanna Pengiran Razali, the Acting Grand Chamberlain, informs that the title “Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri” conferred upon Pengiran Raabi’atul Adawiyyah Pengiran Bolkiah, who is the wife of His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik, is withdrawn with immediate effect.

“This is due to her conduct which does not make her deserving as a spouse of a member of the Royal Family, and which tarnishes the good name and shows disrespect towards His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, and Her Majesty the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha, as well as the Royal Family,” said the announcement on the television.

For information, the title Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri is a royal honorific reference in Brunei conferred upon the wife of a son of the Sultan.
