Three-Year-Old Fighting for Life After Fall From Fifth Floor Flat in Johor Baru

JOHOR BARU: A three-year-old boy is in critical condition after falling from the fifth floor of a residential flat in Bandar Uda Utama, Johor Baru, in an incident that shocked local residents on Tuesday morning.

According to Radin Ramlan Radin Taha, the incident occurred at around 10.30am when the toddler is believed to have fallen through a window of one of the apartment units.

The child, who is nearly three years old, was rushed to Sultanah Aminah Hospital for emergency treatment and remains in critical condition.

Initial police investigations revealed that the victim had reportedly climbed onto a sofa placed near the living room window, which had been left partially open before the fall occurred.

“The victim was discovered lying in the parking area below the block with serious head and neck injuries, as well as internal bleeding,” ACP Radin Ramlan said in a statement.

Authorities are currently investigating the case under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001. Police said further details could not be disclosed at this stage as investigations are still ongoing.
