Negri Barisan says it has a simple majority to team up with Perikatan to form a government

Negri Sembilan Barisan Nasional says it has a simple majority to form the state government now that Perikatan Nasional has chosen to back it.
Barisan has 14 of the 36 seats in the state legislature, and Perikatan has 5. Together, they make up 19 seats.
Pakatan Harapan holds the remaining 17 seats. Barisan said in a statement on Monday (April 27) that they had the simple majority to form the state government now that five Perikatan assemblymen had shown their support.
The partnership thanked the Perikatan assemblymen for their work in helping to end the state’s political crisis.
In addition, Barisan said it valued Perikatan’s willingness to work with them to keep the state government running. “We are prepared to set aside our ideological differences so that we can have a stable government quickly,” it said, adding that it would remain practical and open to everyone.
Barisan said that since most of the assemblymen have promised to work together, it will give the state and the Adat institution a new and better story to tell.
