SERI KEMBANGAN: A lively crowd gathered this morning at AEON Taman Equine for a “Car-Free Day Fun Run” organized by the Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ), highlighting the growing community commitment to healthier lifestyles and environmental sustainability.

The program successfully brought together residents from all walks of life, encouraging physical activity while fostering stronger community bonds.

By reducing vehicle use in urban areas, the initiative also aimed to raise awareness about environmental conservation and the importance of cleaner, greener cities.

The enthusiastic turnout reflected a positive shift among the public toward prioritizing both personal health and sustainable living practices.

During the event, State Assemblyman for Seri Serdang, Abbas Azmi, presented financial contributions under the Anak Seri Serdang Cemerlang initiative, amounting to RM200 each to 20 recipients. In addition, Back To School assistance of RM100 was distributed to 200 beneficiaries to help ease the financial burden on families preparing for the school term.

Abbas Azmi was also given the honor of presenting the grand lucky draw prize — an electric scooter — adding to the excitement of the event.

He expressed hope that such initiatives would continue to support families in need, inspire students to strive for excellence, and strengthen unity within the Seri Serdang community.

The program stands as a testament to the power of grassroots efforts in building a healthier, more connected, and environmentally conscious society.
