IRGC Claims Missile and Drone Strikes on US-Linked Aluminum Plants in Gulf

TEHRAN: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced it carried out coordinated missile and drone strikes targeting two major aluminum facilities in the Gulf region, citing links to US military and aerospace industries.

In a statement released, the IRGC said the operation was jointly conducted by its Aerospace Force and Navy in response to what it described as “malicious actions” by the United States and Israel against Iran’s industrial infrastructure.

The targeted sites were identified as Emirates Global Aluminium (EMAL) in the United Arab Emirates and Aluminium Bahrain (ALBA) in Bahrain. According to the IRGC, both facilities hold strategic importance due to their scale and alleged connections to US defense-related supply chains.

The statement noted that EMAL operates one of the world’s longest aluminum production lines with an annual capacity of around 1.3 million tons. ALBA, meanwhile, was described as having American investment and playing a role in supporting US military-industrial production.

The IRGC warned that its future responses would go beyond proportional retaliation.

“Iran’s response will no longer be limited to an ‘eye for an eye’ approach. Any further aggression will be met with decisive strikes targeting the enemy’s military and economic structures,” the statement said.

The announcement comes amid escalating tensions following a series of reported strikes on Iranian infrastructure, which Tehran attributes to joint US-Israeli actions since late February. Iranian officials have claimed that key facilities, including steel plants, universities, and residential areas, have been targeted.

In response, the IRGC said it has launched sustained retaliatory operations, deploying ballistic and hypersonic missiles along with attack drones against what it described as sensitive and strategic targets across the region.

There has been no immediate independent confirmation of the reported strikes on the aluminum plants, and authorities in the UAE and Bahrain have not yet issued official statements regarding the claims.

The situation continues to raise concerns over a broader regional escalation, particularly involving critical industrial and economic infrastructure.
