PETALING JAYA: The review on reinstating the Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) and Pentaksiran Tingkatan Tiga (PT3) will also focus on parental requests and feedback, said the education minister.
Fadhlina Sidek said she expects the study—which will also assess the current assessment methods—to be completed within this year and presented as soon as possible.
“We already have preliminary views, and we will conduct a comprehensive study before it is presented to the Cabinet for further consideration. So give us some time,” she said, as reported by Berita Harian.
Last Friday, Fadhlina announced that the National Education Advisory Council (MPPK) has been reactivated to review the need to reinstate UPSR and PT3, following concerns raised by parents.
UPSR was abolished in 2021, while PT3 was discontinued in 2022, with both replaced by School-Based Assessment.
