RIYADH, Nov 6: The state visit of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has concluded, marking a historic milestone in the longstanding partnership between the two nations. The four-day visit underscored a renewed spirit of friendship, mutual respect, and cooperation built on shared faith and a collective vision for peace and prosperity.
This official visit, the first by a Malaysian monarch to Saudi Arabia in over four decades, symbolizes a new chapter in Malaysia–Saudi ties, highlighting the depth of spiritual connection and growing collaboration in key areas such as economy, defense, geopolitics, and Islamic affairs.
Sultan Ibrahim was accorded a grand state welcome at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh, where His Majesty held a bilateral meeting with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The discussions, held in a warm and cordial atmosphere, covered a wide range of topics of mutual interest.
“This is our first meeting, and Prince Mohammed is very knowledgeable about the various matters that were discussed,” said Sultan Ibrahim. “I also shared my views on the importance of maintaining consistent policies in governance and international relations, as such consistency brings stability and boosts investor confidence.”
During the visit, His Majesty also toured the Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) and the headquarters of Arabian Oud in Riyadh, reflecting Malaysia’s interest in expanding cooperation in both industrial and cultural sectors.
This marks Sultan Ibrahim’s fifth state visit since ascending the throne earlier this year, following visits to Singapore, China, Brunei, and Russia.
According to official data, Saudi Arabia remains Malaysia’s 14th largest trading partner, with total trade valued at RM44.74 billion (US$9.79 billion) in the first ten months of this year. Notably, 12 high-level exchanges between the two nations have taken place in 2025 alone a testament to the deepening diplomatic and economic engagement.
The successful conclusion of this visit reaffirms Malaysia’s commitment to enhancing bilateral ties with Saudi Arabia and advancing shared goals for regional stability, prosperity, and Islamic solidarity.
