Podcast Polis KL Highlights Role of Communication in Ensuring Public Safety

Kuala Lumpur, 31 October: The Kuala Lumpur Police (Polis KL) hosted an insightful podcast titled “Communication is the Key to Safety,” emphasizing the vital role of effective communication in maintaining public safety and strengthening community trust.

The live session, streamed via @PolisKL on TikTok and Facebook, featured Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Jessica Ong Hai Liaw FCILT, from the Faculty of Defence Studies and Management, National Defence University of Malaysia (UPNM), as the invited speaker.

Dr. Jessica shared expert insights on how clear, transparent, and timely communication can prevent misunderstandings, enhance coordination among stakeholders, and build stronger relationships between law enforcement and the public.

The podcast was hosted by ACP Foo Chek Seng, Deputy Head of the Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department (Operations) at the Kuala Lumpur Contingent Police Headquarters (IPK Kuala Lumpur). His moderation contributed to a dynamic discussion that connected academic perspectives with real-world policing experiences.

The session also served as part of the General Studies (MPU) initiative under UPNM, offering students and the public an engaging platform to understand how communication strategies contribute to community resilience and safety.
